NPR recently asked its readers and listeners to vote on what the best science-fiction and fantasy novels are (series counted as single votes). I neglected to inform you, dear reader, but did manage to vote myself -- although I've forgotten some of what I voted for (and of course, I hadn't read many of the options and so couldn't vote for them). I do remember several that made
their final cut though:
The Lord of the Rings (#1),
The Dune Chronicles (4),
The Hyperion Cantos (51),
The Mote in God's Eye (61),
The Mars Trilogy (95), and
The Space Trilogy (100).
