Thought of the Day

"Agnostic" is the Greek-based word for someone with "no knowledge". The Latin-based word is "ignoramus".

    And as I discovered some years ago, self-identifying 'agnostics' ... along with sefl-identifying 'Christians' who are functionally atheists ... tend to get a might tetchy when one points out that linguistic curiosity.

    Also, what we might call 'philosophical argosticism' really amounts to the assertion that *any* knowledge about the world is impossible (as see here).
